Let me tell you! If you want good homemade food this is the place. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was excellent. Our server was so nice and thoughtful. We enjoyed just sitting in there. It's just a great place and really comfortable. Follow them on Facebook for daily specials. I'm going back Friday for beef tips and rice! Yum
Great stop when driving home to Texas from Arkansas! The dinner rolls w/ butter are YUM! I like that they offer a half portion option - easy on the wallet and waist line!
Well, I did go back for lunch. It was a cold and windy day so I got the special - Chicken & Dumplings. Oh my goodness was it good! It was better than my great grandmother's. I could just taste the pride that someone put into making the dumplings. So delicious...but I think he only does that special once a week. One more thing about Dixie Diner, the value. You can get a very good meal with homemade rolls and cornbread for less than you pay at a drive thru. I think this is why most of the lunch crowd is in their 50s and 60s because they know how to spend their money for good value. I'm going back - maybe just for those rolls!
We went there today after church. It was packed and a very long line. The waitresses were fantastic. They kept smiling under all the pressure and took care of us like it wasn't so rushed. The management is to be congratulated. Our food was only a few minutes later than usual and everything was delicious. So nice to have this restaurant only a couple of miles away. My husband had pork chops and I had the chicken fried steak. Thanks again.
I've been coming to the Dixie honor since I probably was in high school so that was over 20 years ago and the food is still good very very very good desserts friendly service casual atmosphere. It is slightly controversial if you are African-American however it's southern food what you say?
